Friendly Cranberry Bars

1 1/2 cups All-Purpose flour
1 1/2 cups quick oats
3/4 cup packed brown or raw sugar
1 tsp finely shredded lemon peel
1/4 tsp baking soda
3/4 cup melted butter
1 16 ounce can whole cranberry sauce
1/4 cup finely chopped nuts

In a large bowl, stir together flour, oats, brown sugar, lemon peel, and baking soda. Stir in melted butter. Mix thoroughly. Preserve 1 cup for topping. Pat the remaining mixture into an ungreased 12" x 7.5" x 2" baking pan.

Bake at 350F for 20 minutes.

Carefully spread cranberry sauce on top of baked crust. Stir nuts into reserved oat mixture. Sprinkle on of cranberry sauce. Highly pat down.

Bake 25-30 minutes more until top is golden. Cool in the pan on a wire rack. Cut into bars and enjoy.
