1 cup
shortening 2 cups brown sugar 3 eggs 1 cup sour milk 1 tsp vanilla
extract 3 cups all-purpose flour 1 tsp baking powder 1 tsp baking
soda 1/2 tsp salt 1 tsp ground cinnamon 2 cups rolled oats 1 cup
chopped walnuts 1 cup raisins 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
Preheat
oven to 350F. Grease cookie sheets.
In
a large bowl, cream together the shortening and sugar until light and fluffy.
Add the eggs one at a time, beating well with each addition, then stir in the
vanilla and sour milk. Combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and
cinnamon, gradually stir into the creamed mixture. Finally, stir in the rolled
oats, and your choice of additions. Drop by rounded spoonfuls onto the prepared
cookie sheets.
Bake
for 12 to 15 minutes in the preheated oven. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet
for 5 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.
